Proposed Rental Restrictions Amendment Update PDF Print E-mail

Due to continued interest in amending Carillon’s Covenants to include guidelines for rental properties, the Board has conferred with the association attorney to review available options in order to compile the required votes to pass the amendment.  As you may recall, your documents require approval by 2/3 of the votes of the Membership in order to amend the Covenants.  That is 556 total affirmative votes needed.

Instead of collecting the required amount of votes by proxy (which have a 90-day expiration), the attorney suggests a less-restrictive approach wherein signatures are collected from several sources.  Some will be collected door-to-door, others can be gathered at community events held over several weekends to obtain signatures.  This process is similar to a petition and allows more flexibility as there is no time limit on collecting the signatures.  Rather, at the point the required number of signatures are obtained, the amendment, along with the signatures, would be recorded.

Please check back for additional updates as they are available.
